![]() ![]() Plus, I cannot read the titles on books because of the glare and because I'm short, LOL, and my library knows this so when I put a hold on a book that my library has, they aren't upset.įor those of you (like me, hey, even a non-traditional student has $$ issues too) the library is the way to go. If your local library doesn't have a book in large print, and it is published that way, you can find it. I highly recommend this thing called "INTRALIBRARY" loans. ![]() However, when I'm home, I read "real books" in large print. I'm back in school (what is called a non-traditional student) and it is much easier to take the Kindle on the bus with me than a "real" book. I'm hooked and now have a Kindle Fire HD which I adore. I read Dust and NYPD Red on it and it was MUCH easier than taking the books with me. However, a friend gave me an e-reader and I took it across the state to New Bedford. I plan on being an archival librarian one day, so I, too, prefer books. However, since I moved to MA, where space is at a premium (think of the size of MA! LOL) I just can't put books anywhere. I know a lot of people love to own the books and I do too. My library also knows that when a new large print book is purchased, I'll be putting a hold on it (we have Wowbrary, which sends me an email every week on books purchased that week by my library). Pocket Books are so much more readable than Signet.ĭo you guys know any easy to read copies of It (or the Stand, for that matter?) I'd personally love it if Simon and Schuster began to do the reprints for these two novels. I would be willing to have a copy of the book that is nearly 300 pages longer, as long as I can read it. It was the first King novel I ever owned, but I simply can't finish it because of the font. I usually struggle on but eventually I have to quit due to headaches. I've had It for years, and and I've had to quit repeatedly because the font size on the book I own (Signet reprint mass market paperback) is simply way too small. I read Under the Dome in about a week, and 11/22/63 in about 4 days. I have an incredibly endurance with books, especially Stephen King ones. She was teased and taunted by her classmates, misunderstood by her teachers, and given up as hopeless by almost everyone. This sixteen-year-old misfit was forbidden everything that was young and fun by her fanatical mother.
